Every hour of standing water raises the odds the job turns from a dry-out into a demolition. Here's the sequence that keeps it a dry-out.
Assessment
We find where the water came from, classify it (clean, gray, or contaminated), and map how far it spread with moisture meters before anything gets torn out.
Extraction

Why speed matters. The EPA advises drying wet building materials within 24–48 hours to help prevent mold growth. It's a guideline, not a guarantee, but it's why the first day counts more than any other.

Common questions
What should I do before the crew gets there?
If you can reach it safely, shut off the main water valve, and turn off power at the breaker for any wet area. Do not walk through standing water near outlets or appliances. Take photos and video of the water and the damage before anything gets moved. Those photos are the first thing your adjuster will look at.
Does homeowners insurance cover water damage?
Usually it covers sudden, accidental water damage, like a burst pipe or a failed supply line. It usually does not cover flooding from rising outside water, which needs a separate flood policy, and many policies only cover sewer backup with an added rider. How long does it take to dry out a house?
Most residential water losses take several days of drying after the water is extracted. It depends on how much water there was, what got wet, and the humidity. We take moisture readings every day and tell you when the readings say it is dry, not when it looks dry.
